How to replace Touch Control Assembly (HMI) on T2 or T3 Tap System
This is a video demonstrating how to replace the Touch Control Panel lens assembly on a Borg & Overström T2 or T3 tap system.
Firstly turn off power to the unit and disconnect the tap USB and water connections from the ProCore®.
Remove the securing brackets from the underside of the worktop and remove the tap.
On the underside of the tap Touch Control Panel you will find a metal plate with six screws.
Remove all six screws to remove the metal plate.
Next you’ll see the Touch Control Panel printed circuit board housing, remove the two screws that secure the printed circuit board housing.
Keep in mind that the screws are different between the metal plate and the housing, so keep all screws safe and separated.
Turn over the tap.
Using a Phillips head screwdriver or similar tool, carefully prize along the edge of the lens to separate the lens from its sealing adhesive.
The lens can now be removed and the printed circuit board housing should be free to detach.
Finally unplug the printed circuit board from the tap.
The old Touch Control Panel lens assembly is now removed.
On the new assembly, remove the adhesive backing from the lens.
Ensuring the icons are perfectly lined up, stick the new printed circuit board to the back of the lens.
Press around the edge of the printed circuit board to ensure a good seal.
Before reinstalling the assembly you want to clean up any remaining residue as best as possible, this will ensure a good seal to the tap base and keep water from reaching the electronics.
Once the base is cleaned up the new assembly can now be stuck down.
Press the lens against the top wall of the tap base and stick down the new Touch Control Panel.
Ensure a good seal by pressing down on all edges.
You can now reinstall the Touch Control Panel housing and metal plate.
Finally reinstall the tap into position and reattach all connections to the ProCore®.
