1. Identify the main board version.
Version 1 main board:
A Version 1 main board can be identified by a set of 2 pins at the bottom of the main control board labelled PUMP. When updating a Version 1 main board with the Firmware Upgrade Link Key you will need the Number 1 file select switch in the UP position and the remaining switches in the DOWN position.
Version 2 main board:
A Version 2 main board can be identified by 2 sets of 2 pins at the bottom of the main control board labelled FAN1 and FAN2. When updating a Version 2 main board with the Firmware Upgrade Link Key you need the Number 2 switch in the UP position and the remaining switches in the DOWN position.
2. Update the ProCore® main board.
- To update the firmware on the main board located inside the ProCore® undercounter unit, firstly turn off power to the unit.
- Remove the top panel by removing the two screws at the rear.
- Remove the front cover by unscrewing the two screws on the top left and right. This will expose the main control board.
- Depending on which board type you have identified above, select the correct number file select switch.
- Place the Firmware Link Key into the program pin slots, ensuring the 3.3v pins align with each other.
- Turn on power to the unit.
- You will see a solid red light and a flashing blue light. After 10-20seconds the blue light will turn solid indicating the firmware update has been installed.
- Turn off power to the unit.
- Remove the Firmware Update Link Key. Refit all body panels. The ProCore® main board has now been updated.
3. Update the tap.
- Remove tap and, if needed, unscrew water connections to the ProCore® to allow for enough slack in the piping. Do not remove the USB connection.
- Once the tap is removed, remove 6 screws from the HMI rear cover and remove the cover. MonoFit® taps will have 4 screws.
- Once the cover is removed, on T2 and T3 taps (non MonoFit® models) there will be a white secondary cover to remove with 2 screws.
- You will now have access to the HMI board.
- On the Firmware key, put the number 3 file select switch into the UP position with the rest in the DOWN position.
- Place the pins into the program slot in the board. Ensure the 3.3v pin aligns with 3.3v slot on the board.
- Whilst holding the key in place, turn on power to the unit.
- You will see a solid red light and a flashing blue light while the firmware is being installed. When the blue light turns solid, the firmware has been successfully updated.
- Turn off power to the unit again before removing the firmware key.
- Reassemble the tap covers with the same screws as before. Ensuring all cables are still seated properly.
- Reinstall the tap into the worktop with it’s worktop fixings screwed up finger tight. Reconnect any water pipes to the ProCore®.
- Turn the power on. Tap with a hot dispense option will boot into commissioning mode.
- For units with no hot dispense, skip to step 24. Ensure water is dispensing from the hot side by pressing the lock icon, then holding the hot icon.
- After water has dispensed from the hot side, the hot tank is full. Hold lock icon for 20 seconds to take the unit out of commissioning mode.
- Finally, check all dispense options are functioning correctly.
