How often should I service my water dispenser or tap system?

Borg & Overström water dispensers and tap systems are business investments, that see heavy use. Thousands of litres of water are dispensed throughout it's lifespan, so it is highly important to service the dispenser every 6 months to insure the continued capability to provide clean, great tasting water.

Servicing a water dispenser or tap system includes changing filters, sanitising all water pathways, and deep cleaning all exterior surfaces.

The product is supplied from the factory in clean condition, but we recommend that a sanitisation procedure is carried out at the point of installation, according to the sanitisation instructions. Failure to use sanitising materials and processes approved and/or recommended by Borg & Overström could invalidate your warranty.

Changing filters

Overtime the filters in place to remove contaminants from the water supply become saturated. They remove contaminants such as odors, chlorine, microplastics, limescale and forever chemicals.
If filters are not changed, they can become blocked, and eventually start breaking down, preventing the flow of water and actually allowing contaminants into the dispensed water.
This causes a health risk to the end user, and can significantly reduce the lifespan of the water dispenser or tap system.

Sanitising water pathways

Over extended periods of time and heavy use, bacteria can sometimes find it's way into the piping inside the unit. This can be via the water supply or retrograde transmission.
If left to grow, this bacteria can cause a health risk to end users.
Sanitising the water pathways ensures the internals of the system are completely sterile, and safe to use.

Cleaning exterior surfaces

The externals surfaces of a water dispenser and tap system are exposed to touch transmission of bacteria, dust and spillages.
It is good practice to clean the exterior surfaces daily to keep the system clean and presentable.

By sanitising your dispenser or tap system every 6 months, you will prevent health risks, increase the lifespan of your product, and allow it continue providing clean, great tasting water day-in day-out.
