Overview
This TA details the software update on T-series, E-series and C-series products manufactured from 23rd March 2026. This software addresses the HMI board 720297 - Issue 13, HMI board 703210 - Issue 2 and Main control board 720337 - Issue 18. The updates include:
- Code optimisation
- Compressor optimisation
- Water chilling indicator update
- Sparkling water anti-drip enhancement
- Hot water recovery dispense control
- Hot water temperature selection
- Removal of master dispense unlock
You can find a more detailed overview of each update below.
Code and compressor optimisation
To improve the performance and lifecycle of the compressor, a 90 second delay has been implemented at the start of the compressor cycle or when the unit if first turned on or reset. Additionally a 5.33 min delay will occur before the compressor will turn on after it has reached optimum temperature. The compressor will turn off after 4 hours without any dispense. Should the system not reach the cold set-point temperature within a 4 hour period, and in the same time there has been no dispense requested, the compressor will turn off. The cold dispense icon will then be disabled, and the warning icon will flash 4 times, indicating the "Compressor Timeout Error Code".
Water chilling indicator update
To prevent water from being dispensed when not at optimum temperature, and indicate that water is chilling, the sparkling icon will now also pulse alongside the chilled icon. This activates when the water temperature rises above 10°C.
Sparkling water anti-drip enhancement
To further reduce dripping after sparkling dispense, the sparkling water anti-drip feature has been improved with an anti-drip delay setting of 1 second. Alternative anti-drip delay settings are available on removal of the red link wire and can only be adjusted within 10 minutes of dispenser start up or when in commissioning mode.
To adjust the anti-drip delay first remove the red link wire, then tap the sparkling icon 10 times, holding on the 10th. The system will cycle through the beeps mentioned below. Remove your finger after hearing your desired setting. A video detailing the process can be found here.
| Audible indicator | Sparkling anti-drip delay |
| 1 beep | 0 seconds |
| 2 beeps | 0.5 seconds |
| 3 beeps | 1 second |
| 4 beeps | 1.5 seconds |
| The T1 tap will flash the Borg & Overström logo, instead of emitting a beep. Default values marked in bold. |

Hot water recovery dispense control
To ensure quality hot drinks and to prevent dispense of low temperature hot water, hot water dispense will be restricted while the unit is heating. When the temperature of the hot water drops below 80°C, the unlock icon will no longer be illuminated, preventing dispense of hot water. This feature can be turned off if required when in commissioning mode. A video detailing the process can be found here.
To implement this feature, tap the ambient icon 10 times, holding on the 10th.
| Audible indicator | Hot water control option |
| 1 long beep | OFF |
| 2 beeps | ON |
| Default values marked in bold. |

Hot water temperature selection
To provide more customisation depending on customer preferences, and reduce the risk of overboiling and dripping following hot water dispense, we have implemented variable temperature selection for the hot water temperature set point. The default temperature is 92°C, with additional set points at 94°C and 96°C. These can only be selected within commissioning mode. A video detailing the process can be found here.
To adjust the temperature of the hot water dispense, tap and hold the hot icon for 10 seconds until the unlock icon begins to flash, and the red warning light illuminates. The system will cycle through the beeps mentioned below. Remove your finger after hearing your desired setting.
Temperature tolerance of ±2°C from the set points.
| Audible indicator | Hot water temperature selection |
| 1 beep | 92°C 184°F |
| 2 beeps | 94°C 186°F |
| 3 beeps | 96°C 188°F |
| Default values marked in bold. |

Removal of master dispense unlock
To accommodate the hot water recovery dispense control, the option to require the unlock button before dispensing all water types in no longer available.
ProCore and HMI PCB Compatibility
All products produced following the 23rd March 2026 will feature an updated HMI and an updated ProCore PCB, enabling all software features. Should a new issue PCB be combined with an older issue PCB, e.g. in the event of a replacement part, please see tables below. To update a PCB you will need to request a firmware upgrade key and follow the Firmware Upgrade Instructions found here.

WARNING: After installing the software update, please reset the system back to default settings by tapping the chilled icon 12 times, holding on the 12th. You will hear 2 beeps, followed by the system resetting itself and going back into a commissioning/setup state (hot units only). Bluetooth waste and EcoMode settings will reset back to default (ON) and will require resetting if desired.
