Their brand new headquarters in TIDE Bankside London doubles up as both their headquarters and their showroom. It is how they showcase the excellence they can achieve when it comes to designing truly exceptional office spaces. They wanted to create a collection of spaces that told their own story and had their own personality, but still be able to come together as one cohesive design.
As a part of that cohesive design they chose certain fixtures, fittings and technology that would remain consistent throughout the multiple floors of their office. One such piece of technology was the T2 tap system from Borg & Overström. This was chosen mainly for its sleek minimal design and unique squared faucet, which differs from the more industrial look that other options on the market feature.
"The reason we went for this particular design, it's quite sleek and slim line, it doesn't overpower or take up too much space on the counter. I liked that it was offered in black, because we worked with mixed metals. In the kitchens we have gone for brass fixtures and fittings, so I think the black fits in really nicely."

Being used in a busy office space, performance was important for Modus. The new Modus headquarters currently hosts circa 150 people. With only 3 drinking water taps they needed something that would keep up with the hydration needs of at least 50 people per tap.
They were impressed with not only the performance, but how quiet the tap system was. In a close nit open plan office, having the ability to place the taps close by without the downside of fan noise, is a big plus. It further increases the effective performance of the tap by reducing the distance needed between the main office space and the kitchen, reducing travel time, and less time wasted.

Sustainability was also high on Modus' list of requirements. They aim to "minimise the carbon footprint of every project, from the design phase through construction and into the building’s operational life." This ESG mission statement from Modus didn't come from nothing. It is a key buying factor for all of Modus' clients and potential clients. In an industry that historically creates a lot of waste, it is our responsibility to ensure all design and build projects are executed with minimal impact on the environment.
Modus were keen to implement the T2 and it's energy efficient ProCore® undercounter system due to its eco-design and technology, reducing it's energy usage by up to 70% compared to similar systems.
