At Borg and Overström, quality assurance is central to everything we do. Each product is carefully built by hand, designed to deliver reliability, durability, and a flawless finish.

Borg & Overström Quality Standard

The Borg and Overström standard of quality is achieved through rigorous quality control at every stage of production. We are proud to be 9001 accredited for our Quality Management Systems.

Every dispenser is checked at multiple stages during production. Only when we are 100% satisfied with both performance and appearance is a unit cleared for delivery to our customers. This rigorous attention to detail keeps our out-of-box failure rate below 0.2%.

Before a dispenser is packaged and shipped to you, it undergoes a componentry check, functionality check, making sure all dispense cycles are tested, and is electrically tested to BS EN 60335.

Maktens Borg Marque of Quality

The Maktens Borg marque signifies Borg & Overstrom authenticity and our commitment to quality around the world. After a water dispenser or tap has been hand built, a member of our production team signs and applies a Totality® tag to signify it has been checked, tested and meets our quality standard.

How we ensure world class product quality

Step 1 - Selecting Supplies

Incoming supplies must be of the highest standards to create world-class products. Suppliers must provide quality testing documents to confirm the materials meet our specifications.

Step 2 - Arrival quality checks

Goods are inspected through several checks. These include: checking supplier documents, inspecting incoming goods for defects, and carrying out further checks on critical components.

Step 3 - Assembly quality checks

It is essential that during the build stage, regular checks are carried out where any issues can be identified and resolved. Technicians carry out the following checks: electrical, visual and componentry.

Step 4 - Quality testing

After completing all build stages, each unit is fully functional and undergoes comprehensive testing before being packed for shipping. This consists of: an electrical safety check, a wet test, a dispense cycles test, a functionality test, unit sterilisation, unit drying, electrical testing to BS EN 60335, and a final content check.

Regular quality audits

We conduct internal and external audits to ensure that every finished product consistently meets our stringent quality standards. These include the three
steps below.
