Filtration is an essential part of the drinking water system. It is equally important as the quality of the dispenser itself. The wrong filter can cause less than ideal taste, allow bacteria into your drinking water, block up prematurely or even cause damage to your water dispenser or tap system.
Borg & Overström dispensers are all designed with filtration in mind, and are designed to work best when paired with the recommended filter.
T3 Tap System and Porpoise
The T3 and Porpoise have a dual inlet ProCore®, meaning it needs two filters. One for the cold water, and one for the hot water.
The recommended cold water filter is the AP3 HF10-I.
This is an exceptionally high density filter, preventing contaminants from passing through down to 0.2microns. Small enough to prevent microplastics and bacteria from passing.
The recommended hot side filter is the AP3 SGP145BH+.
This filter works differently to the cold side, it's main responsibility is to protect the hot tank from limescale buildup. It does this through ion-exchange technology, removing calcium from the water.
T1 and T2 Tap Systems
The T1 and T2 taps do not have a hot dispense option, therefore the recommended filter is the AP3 HF10-I.
This premium filter excels at removing even the smallest of contaminants, while featuring the capacity and lifespan rating needed, to cope with the volume of water the T1 and T2 are designed to output.
E4 and E6 Water Dispensers
Hot dispensers
If you have a hot dispense option, the recommended filter is the AP3 HF10-MS.
This filter still offers incredibly high density filtration up to 0.5microns, however it still offers scale inhibition.
Non-hot dispensers
If you do not have a hot dispense option the recommended filter is the AP3 HF10-I.
This offers the best quality filtration of 0.2microns.
However if you are looking for a more budget option, the AP2-C401-SG is compatible. It features a 1micron rating for slightly less effective filtration, so it is only recommended when the incoming water quality is high. It is also rated for a shorter lifespan with lower capacity. So, if you are a heavy user of your water system, this filter might not be for you.
E6 Chilled Only
The E6 Chilled Only is a dispenser that has been specifically designed for healthcare environments.
It's recommended filter in healthcare facilities is the AP3 HF20-A020-SR.
This filter features an absolute 0.2 micron rating, however it's main feature is that it still allows the trace amounts of chlorine in the water supply to persist.
Chlorine acts as a bacteria growth preventative even after the water is dispensed. This is a must in hospital and intensive care environments, where patients can be at risk to bacteria build-up at all times.
